Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has revealed that he has no plans of leaving the Blues during the summer transfer window.
The Brazil international signed a new contract with the Blues earlier this season. He is currently tied to them until June 2024.
There has been speculation that he could look to terminate his contract this summer but Silva has dismissed those claims.
He told ESPN: “There’s nothing between me and Fluminense now. I’ve extended my contract because I want to stay at Chelsea.”
Silva has been Chelsea‘s best-performing centre-back since his free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain four years ago.
He will be 39 in the first half of next season but the Blues continue to value his experience on and off the playing field.
Silva could hang up his boots in the summer of 2024 but the Blues are already in talks over a coaching role for him.
Hence, his stay with the club could continue for the long-term. Silva will be in action against Manchester City this weekend.
