Brentford striker Ivan Toney wants around £250,000-a-week to make the switch to Manchester United this summer.
The Red Devils are expected to offload Anthony Martial when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
They want a quality replacement who can compete with Rasmus Hojlund. Toney is one of the names on their shortlist.
However, it appears a deal won’t be straightforward. Brentford are expected to demand £40-50 million to sanction his sale.
Meanwhile, Toney is also looking for a substantial payrise on his current £20,000-a-week salary at Brentford.
He is aware of the interest from the Red Devils and is hoping to pocket around £250,000 weekly with a summer move.
Martial currently earns the same package at United. It seems Toney wants to be on the same payscale as the Frenchman.
Toney has a vastly better fitness record than Martial, but United could be hesitant to meet his current salary requirements.
His wage demands could also put off other suitors this summer.
