Chelsea will demand £40 million to sell Manchester United target Mateo Kovacic this summer, according to Football Insider.
The Croatian has been a pivotal figure in the club’s midfield but looks likely to move on with his contract expiring next summer.
Kovacic is aware of the Blues’ pursuit of more midfielders and he does not want to become a fringe player over coming seasons.
United and Manchester City are among clubs interested in signing Kovacic but the Blues appear set to demand a premium price to sell him.
The west London giants are expected to hold out for around £40m to part ways with the 29-year-old in the upcoming transfer window.
Kovacic has also been linked with the likes of Juventus and Inter Milan lately but they are unlikely to afford the price tag this summer.
Hence, it seems very likely that the midfielder could join another Premier League rival. It could well be from Manchester, as per reports.
