Arsenal have made the decision to part ways with Marquinhos amid a proposal from Fluminense, according to Globo Esporte.
The Brazilian joined the Gunners from Sao Paulo two years ago. He scored and assisted on his debut for the club against FC Zurich in the Europa League.
However, he was used sparingly in the next few months and ended up joining Norwich City on loan during the back end of last season.
Marquinhos was sent out to Nantes in a similar deal last summer, but the Gunners recently recalled him amid his lack of game time.
The youngster is currently with Brazil at the Pre-Olympic tournament and he is then expected to join Fluminense on loan until the summer.
As part of the move, the South American champions will have the option to purchase him. There is no mention of the buy clause value.
Arsenal had high hopes on Marquinhos after the success of Gabriel Martinelli. He will now return to Brazilian football to redeem himself.
